From the Ma-10 road at km point 27+200 it is possible to view the tectonic structure of the Puig Major, which represents at a lesser scale the tectonic structure of the Serra de Tramuntana in the form of imbricated thrust faults.

In a similar manner to the Serra de Tramuntana, the massif of the Puig Major is constituted by several thrust laminas of the Lias and Rethian (Lower Jurassic-Upper Triassic).
