The area of Penyal de s’Àguila, in terms of the geology of Eivissa, is particularly diverse. In the short route from the Illa Blanca residential area to Portet de s’Àguila you can see up to three geological formations of differing ages and origins. First, you shall see the remains of Upper Triassic salt lagoons, then you pass through a Miocene delta, and then enjoy the Cretaceous fauna-rich sea bottom. Finally, you can see a clear fault that will help understand the geological evolution of Eivissa.
